The fukushin and shushin certification and its complementary training course are developed by Shobu Ippon Denmark to promote a unified standard for judging Shobu Ippon tournaments in kumite and kata.
Purpose
The purpose of judge training in Shobu Ippon Denmark is to ensure a high level among the judges selected to officiate at Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. A high level includes knowledge of the rules as well as the ability to judge in an objective, correct, and fair manner. Judge training includes ongoing participation in judge training in Shobu Ippon Denmark, as well as serving as a fukushin or shushin at selected Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments.
Certification
In Shobu Ippon Denmark, we operate with three levels of judges. Level 1 opens the possibility to serve as a shushin and fukushin at all Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. Level 2 opens the possibility to serve as a shushin and fukushin at selected Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. Level 3 opens the possibility to serve as a fukushin at selected Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. Placement in the different levels is based on an overall professional assessment from performances in judge training and judging at tournaments.
As a judge in Shobu Ippon Denmark, you will receive continuous feedback on your judging performances – both during judge training and as a judge at tournaments.
Selection as a Judge
It is solely the management of Shobu Ippon Denmark, who after a professional assessment of each judge’s performance, selects judges for Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. The selection as fukushin or shushin is based on an overall professional assessment of each judge’s level and performance during judge training and at tournaments.
Selection as a Judge from Other Organizations
Trained judges, with judge licenses from other organizations, may be selected as fukushin or shushin at Shobu Ippon Denmark tournaments. The selection and the level one can serve at depend on an overall assessment of each individual’s judge license and performance as a judge at tournaments.
Requirements for Judge Training in Shobu Ippon Denmark
As a judge in Shobu Ippon Denmark, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of 1st dan rank, as well as be recommended by your instructor.
